Dear friends of A&D,Â
Today we are excited to announce our investment in Open Payments, a pioneering Swedish Open Banking platform designed specifically for B2B payments.Â
The Stockholm-based company was founded in 2017 to address the complexity and inefficiency businesses face when integrating multiple banking services into their systems, a process often plagued by errors, high costs, and time-consuming efforts.Â
Led by its co-founder and CEO Louise Brandt, Open Payments has become the leading Nordic Open Banking platform for B2B payments. It is trusted by ERP systems, treasury systems, and accounting providers, including Monitor ERP, Juni Technologies, Bjorn Lunden, and Speedledger. During 2024, Open Payments tripled its transaction volumes, doubled revenue, and achieved full coverage of the Dutch B2B banking landscape, laying the foundation for broader European expansion.
With our previous investments in Trustly, Kleer (prev. PE Accounting) and Transfer Galaxy, the A&D team has experienced the intersection between accounting systems, international payments, and open banking first hand over many years.Â
Alfvén & Didrikson will invest SEK 30m and will together with Industrifonden become the largest shareholders in the company. Other existing owners include Sony Financial Ventures/Global Brain, Luminar Ventures and Brightly Ventures. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval by the SFSA and is expected to close in the coming months.Â
Emil Ahlanzberg and MÃ¥ns Alfvén have led the work on the investment and will join the company’s Board of Directors, as Board Member and Board Deputy, respectively. Tuula Tallavaara has once again done great work as our legal advisor!Â
For more information see press release, Di Digital, and Tech.eu.Â
We look forward to the journey together with Louise and the whole team at Open Payments!
